Forest Park

Someone recently wondered on Twitter if a person posting a bunch of pictures and almost no type is still considering blogging. Well it is, but it's a photo blog! Which for the next... however long it takes you to look at pictures... is what this blog has become!
There's Fuzhou!
Earlier this week a few fellow teachers and I headed to nearby Forest Park, a "botanical garden" too massive to be called that. We hiked some mountainous terrain, swam in a mountainous pool, and admired the mountainous scenery, wildlife, and vegetation.
This tree was very impressive.
I liked this vegetation, and if you look closely you can see a butterfly- wildlife!
One of the highlights is that we did this hike on one of the last days of summer. It was still warm enough for an impromptu dip in a surprisingly deep swimmin' hole. Nowadays, four days later, the temperature has dropped to a windy 15 degrees, making impromptu outdoor swimming a thing of the past. Let's see the photos.

Did I mention there was a waterfall? Shhhhh it's a secret waterfall.

Beautiful end to a great day.

Looking Back. And Forward. It's Tricky Simultaneously...

Today I finished CreComm.

Now I haven't graduated or anything official like that- let's face it I still have to pay that fine before they'll let me near a diploma. But today I handed in my very last assignment in Red River College's Creative Communications program. Now I figure that graduation time will call for a much more celebratory blog post, so what does that mean to you, dear reader, until then?

It means that I have time to fill you in on all the new things I've done in the past few months and missed writing about. I wanted to, I really did, I just didn't have enough time! That's all, nothing personal I promise, nothing is going on my babies! So over the next... while... I'll be posting some of the adventures I wished I had enough time to share earlier.

Some of the new things you can eagerly hope to hear about are: making a documentary, filming a lingerie fashion show, infiltrating Winnipeg's UFO community, and doing stand-up comedy. Stay tuned! Let's talk soon...

Have you seen THIS incredible new thing?

Today I tell you about The Upper Cruster.
TUC is a new blog that I’ve discovered, and they have a print magazine in the works that will be released on March 31. I don’t think I’m overstating this: it’s the greatest magazine ever. I stumbled upon this site while looking for information on grooming a racehorse if your stable boy has called in sick and your backup stable boy has been hit by one of those double-decker novelty tour buses and was pronounced dead on the scene and you have a race the next day. I was just looking purely for harmless interest’s sake, and was delighted to find this magazine.

Looks like TUC will offer some kind of amazing lifestyle guide for Canada’s wealthiest people, with info on pressing matters like travel, current events, fashion and accessories, recreation without perspiring, philanthropy, religions with membership fees, and what to do with unsightly homeless people. I can’t wait to read it.

And I’m totally straight and everything, but isn’t that Charles writer guy totally hot? Breathtaking.

Check out TUC’s blog here and become a fan on Facebook here. You are welcome.

Hit Me Baby One More Time!

Today my blog reached 1,000 hits.

I just want to thank my readers for their support! What do you do for this milestone? Should we have cake or something? I'm actually having a good time with this blogging thing... let's keep this positivity going as you tour the blogosphere with me. I love having you. Yes... you.

Blogging About Tweeting is Overkill

Today I started tweeting.
It's surprisingly easy to do something you always promised yourself you'd never do. About seven clicks and suddenly I've gone back on all my promises. Next thing you know, I'll be riding those old-school bicycles or listening to Bieber, other things I hate. Then again... I'm blogging about him right now! It's too late!
CreComm is forcing me to be a different person; so far it's been a lot to get used to. The latest development is my new Twitter account, @deweyparker. What was that again? @deweyparker, follow that immediately!
I have to admit, because my teacher is making me, in a way, Twitter has been kinda cool. Within minutes I was able to see hilarious posts from Conan O'Brien and Stephen Colbert. Twitter will also help me keep in closer contact with my fellow students. And, if I ever have something important but extremely short to say, Twitter will be there. Lastly, if you ever need to tell me about something, just tweet the deets!
